January Newsletter

This month has gone by so quickly. How is everyone doing on their new year's resolutions? I think my 2018 goals are going good so far. Fingers crossed, I keep the momentum going.

We brought in the new year at my mom's house with family and friends. We had tons of good food and played some board games which got pretty wild.

2017 was a pretty good year for me and it really made me hone into what I wanted to get accomplished this year and how to hold myself accountable. I even went as far as brainstorming things I wanted to accomplish before I turn 30.

We finally announced baby's gender! We are having a baby boy and we cannot wait to meet him. Time is flying by and the pressure is on, trying to make sure we have everything ready for our newest family member. We want it to be a smooth transition.

It's been a pretty low-key month for us. We've had a few issues with the house we're in that created a little stress. So we've been more so focused on those issues rather than other things.

My husband and I did manage to throw in a date night to this amazing ramen place in the Gallery Place/Chinatown area. It's called Daikaya. There is a pretty extensive wait time and they don't take reservations but the ramen is so good. I was in Heaven.

I also managed to plan a date night with my daughter. Just a mommy and me date. We went to the Miracle Theatre to go see CoCo. It was beautiful to watch but I thought the story of it was going to be much better than what it was. It was good. Just not a favorite of mine. Jordan enjoyed it. I think she enjoyed the popcorn and candy the most.

Because it was a pretty low-key month as far as us doing anything exciting and going on adventures, I didn't wear a lot of makeup this month. So there aren't any new beauty favorites. I have been experimenting with skincare. The better my skin looks, the better my makeup looks.

I did, however, straighten my hair for the first time in over a year and a half and it's different. It's helped me not have to do my hair every day which I like. I needed something low maintenance.

My best friend came to visit and we went to Ted's Bulletin for dinner. We haven't seen each other in months and it was nice to eat some good food and have a good conversation. If you ever go to Ted's Bulletin, you have to get the chicken and biscuits. It's the only thing I ever want.

I've read 5 complete books this month. Browsed through another and ready a few pages out of it. And I've been using my YouVersion App for Bible Study. I also decided to download the Headspace app to start meditating. It's going pretty well.

January was quiet although it went by super fast. I know February is a bit of a shorter month, but I hope it slows down just a tad bit. I need to finish preparing for this baby!
