November Beauty Favorites
In honor of November being my birthday month, I got to do a little shopping and gift receiving this month, giving me the chance to try out new makeup. These are the products I have been reaching for all month long!
My husband bought me this palette for my birthday and I am obsessed with it. The packaging is gorgeous and the shades are stunning! I get dressed with this palette in mind, that's how much I love it. There is a little glitch with mine. The shade names are upside down and labeled incorrectly but I didn't see it as such a big deal to where I needed to return it. It'll just be unique to me. The colors are extremely pigmented and swatch very well. You get a total of 12 shadows, 5 shimmers, and 7 matte shades. There is a little bit of fall out/powder when using a brush but all you have to do is tap off the excess powder. And honestly, one tap into the shadow is all you need because of how pigmented the shadows are. Overall this palette has become my everyday palette.
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Mood Exposure (Mini Size)
Sephora had a major sale going on with mini-sized makeup and I was all for it. Hourglass products are so beautiful inside and out but are quite pricey. For me personally, I prefer mini sized items based on my personal makeup usage. This marbled plum blush gives the perfect glow to your cheeks and adds the right amount of light to them. And if you read on the site how the blushes are made, it's really fascinating. You will need a smaller sized blush brush to apply. I use a travel sized one I received in an Ipsy bag awhile ago and it works perfectly.
Revlon Colorstay Brow Pencil in 210 Soft Brown
Desperate times call for desperate measures. I didn't have a brow pencil with me and I needed one at the time and this is the first one I came across. It has a spooly brush on one side and the brow pencil on the other side. I love the color. It's darker than I prefer but somehow it works for me. The pencil is very creamy and pigmented so make sure you are using a light hand and have some type of brow gel to set it. The tip of the brow pencil is rounded kind of and not too thin or too chunky. Honestly based off of my use this month, I do plan to repurchase this product.
Buxom Lash Mascara (Mini Size)
I originally hated this mascara when I first got it. I didn't like how wet the formula was and with the size of the mascara brush, I felt like mascara got everywhere. I believe it needed to set and dry out a bit because now I love this stuff! The wand is amazing and grabs every single eyelash without clumping them together. It makes my lashes very long but natural looking.
I picked this up from Sephora when I tried the original version in a Sephora play box. The color was perfect and I liked the formula but I wanted to know if they had a matte version since I have oily skin. I checked online then went in store to try it out. I love this stuff and it's my first high-end foundation. I was a little hesitant about paying the price but to be honest it's worth it. You don't need a lot and it's not so matte to where you look dry. It gives off a really nice finish. To all my oily girls, check it out!
Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer Color Adjusting (Mini Size)
Again this was purchased in the mini section because I just can't help myself. I've head great things about Smashbox and their primers and decided to give it a shot. I'm also a fan of color correcting because I feel like it really does work, but I don't always have the time to do so. The green is meant to cancel out redness which I tend to have, especially on the cheek nose area. It's not greasy and blends well into the skin. And again you don't need a crazy amount, just make sure you moisturize before applying your primer.
And there you have this month's beauty favorites. If you want to check out last month's just click here. Are there any products you've been loving this month and want to tell me about? I'd love to know!
Love & Light,
