Dominion Garden Fest of Lights

This was such a spontaneous trip. I literally woke up Saturday morning, googled the Richmond botanical garden, (because we love this place) and saw they were doing a festival of Christmas lights. I booked tickets instantly, we got dressed and the Dodsons were off.

Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden is doing a Dominion Garden Fest of Lights from November 22nd, 2019 until January 26th, 2020 from 5 pm to 10 pm. They are closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

We arrived around 4:40 pm and there was still a little light outside as the sun was setting. It wasn't too cold and it was still beautiful. It allowed us to get some photos before it got too dark. We stayed for about an hour and a half, so we left around 6-ish, which in my opinion was the perfect time to leave. As we were leaving it was starting to really get crowded and the kids were tired.

It was so beautiful walking through the garden filled with lights. There were flying pigs, a Wizard of Oz display, tons of animals, a light maze and they even had hot chocolate and a fire pit for smores!

The kids were such in awe and honestly so were we. It was a great way to kick off the Christmas season.

If you’re in the area, definitely check it out!

Tickets for adults are $13 and for kids 3-12 $8.

Love & Light,

Jalesa
