Every Book I Read in 2021

I read like crazy this year! I didn’t read as much as I usually do last year but I made up for it this year. I actually found a new love for thrillers as you will see among the book list. I’m usually intrigued by parenting, child education, and self-help books but fiction consumed my list this year. I read so many good books and found a new author I am OBSESSED with! I read every single one of her books this year. There were a few duds and one book that I specifically do not recommend reading.

FAVORITE BOOK OF THE YEAR:

We Are Not Like Them - Christine Pride & Jo Piazza

This book was everything. It’s just so spot-on for the current times that we are living in. I find myself so close to the characters and found myself evaluating my own experiences and friendships. The ending was what really got me. After finishing the book, my husband and I had a really good conversation and a good cry. If you pick any book to read from my list, it should be this one.

Now for the books, I do not recommend:

If You Tell - Greg Olsen: This book is based on real-life occurrences. I ended up doing a deep dive on the events throughout the book and after. This book was extremely disturbing and hard to get through, especially as a mother.

How To Be a Happier Parent - KJ Dell’Antonia - I’ve read a lot of self-help and parenting books and this one just ain’t it. Luckily I rented it from the library and didn’t buy it. The writing and advice were terrible in my opinion. To be honest I skimmed half of this book because I didn’t want to read it anymore.

I bought quite a few books this year, some from genres I’m not used to reading so I look forward to the books I’ll read in the new year.
