Book Talk: Defending Jacob

William Landay

This was such a good book and I enjoyed the way the story was told. You actually don’t realize the way it is being told until the very end, leading to an incredible plot twist.

The story is about an assistant district attorney, Andy, and his journey to defend his son, Jacob, against murder.

A young boy pops up in a park who appeared to have been stabbed to death. It’s one of Jacob’s classmates and as the evidence unfolds, it appears that Jacob was the one to have murdered the boy.

Like any parent, Andy is in disbelief and knows that his son would never do such a thing, or does he?

Jacob is odd and mysterious. Like most parents, they barely know anything about their teenage son.

As more evidence comes in and the trial is ongoing, the more Andy questions his son and himself.

The past and present come into play and the twists and turns you’ll take in this book will have you wanting to read until the very end.

How far would you go to save your child?

*If you’re interested, Apple TV actually has a show on this book featuring Chris Evans as Andy. I have not yet watched the show but it’s on my list.

love & light,
