Children's Book Talk: 006
I am back with another children’s book talk. If you haven’t seen our previous ones make sure you go give them a read. I actually have my children pick out their favorite books at the moment and these are for sure in rotation.
I AM HUMAN
By: Susan Verde : Art by: Peter H. Reynolds
I enjoy this series of books. We own quite a few from the series. We especially love the art. This book explains the beauty of being a human and showing empathy. It reaffirms that we were all born, we are constantly learning, we all have big dreams, we experience a wide arrange of emotions and make mistakes. We all can have bad days. It's a beautiful book to demonstrates what being human really is and I think that's an important reminder not only for our kids but for ourselves as well.
WHAT IS GOD LIKE?
By: Rachel Held Evans and Matthew Paul Turner: Illustrated by: Ying Hui Tan
I have enjoyed every book by Matthew Paul Turner so when I saw his newest release I knew I needed it for my kids. The artwork is absolutely stunning. It's a beautiful and friendly nod to what God is like and a great answer to your child's question when they ask.
GRACE AND BOX
By: Kim Howard : Illustrated by: Megan Lotter
We all know that our kids are more drawn to playing with a box than their actual toys. This fun and cute book follows Grace and her dog along with the many adventures of her refrigerator box throughout the week. I know after reading this book my kids couldn't wait to come up with their own adventures with their box.
THE OLD TRUCK
By: Jarrett Pumphrey & Jerome Pumphrey
This book is written and illustrated by two brothers and I am obsessed with this book. It follows this little old farm truck and how it transitions throughout the seasons and throughout the growing family on the farm. The transitions are beautiful and I love to see how the truck changes within the family. This old truck definitely lived many lives.
I hope you pick one of these books up for you and your little one to enjoy.
love & light,
Jalesa
