Why We're No Longer Homeschooling
It saddens me to say that we will no longer be homeschooling! We were so excited to start this new journey of homeschooling and we dived deep into that realm. We didn’t stop because it was hard or because we weren’t enjoying it. We both loved it and it challenged our relationship in many different ways. Homeschooling has changed my views on education and how children were made to learn and public school is NOT it.
We were blessed to have Jordan attend a community school in our area and it was too good to say no. It was everything my daughter needed, especially since so much was taken away from her during the pandemic.
It’s like homeschool but with other kids and lots of outside time which is what my daughter needs to thrive.
I started homeschooling my daughter to build up her confidence. She lost a lot of it in public school and it honestly broke my heart to see her struggling so much. Not just academically, but socially as well.
With homeschool, we were able to really focus on her and start to rebuild her confidence. I know this school will continue to do the same.
Also, homeschooling, while also in school myself, while ALSO having two toddlers running around is NOT easy and I applaud the homeschool mamas who are rocking it! But we could see those distractions were starting to get to my daughter and that wasn’t fair to her and her education. The goal was to build up her confidence, not diminish it.
We still plan to summer school. I have TONS of homeschool material now. I may even throw in some occasional tot schooling. So don’t think the homeschool content is going to stop because I still have so much more to share!
So stick around!
love & light,
