First Impressions: Anthropologie
I have never been in Anthropologie, but I had always wanted to go. It looked like such a beautiful store. So my husband and I recently stumbled upon one in our travels of Alexandria and we decided to take a look. We fell in love. I think my husband was drooling more than I was. He was drooling more so over the home wear things and I over the clothes. They have such beautiful clothing from all over the world. Now let's pause right there, Anthropologie is not cheap. So don't expect Forever 21 prices but the quality and material is fantastic! I completely understand why. I'll be honest it's well worth it. I'm at this stage in life where there are certain pieces of clothing that I want to invest my money in and be able to wear for years to come.
It's great to have the latest fashion trends, but for how long? It's great to spend little money and get a load of stuff, but how long will the stuff actually last before replacing it?
I want my wardrobe to be able to grow with me. If you actually read the Anthropologie story on their website, The founder, Dick Hayne had answered the request of a friend, for clothing that was about adventure and not the latest trends.
"Our customer is a creative-minded woman, who wants to look like herself, not the masses. She has a sense of adventure about what she wears, and although fashion is important to her, she is too busy enjoying life to be governed by the latest trends. To her, Anthropologie is a portal of discovery—a brush with what could be. A place for her to lose—and find—herself."
"Our product offering consists of women’s apparel and accessories, intimates, home furniture and décor, beauty and gifts. Each caters to the lifestyle of our five muses: soft & delicate; boho chic; easy cool; elegant classic; and modern sporty." (Anthropologie.com)
Guys! This is right up my ally!
So I picked up a few pieces from each category: clothing, beauty, and home.
Let's start with perfume. So I picked up the Anatomy of Fragrance WildFig Fig No6. It is such a nice fragrance. It's not too floral or sweet, but has more of a soft, sophisticated smell to it, that makes it suitable for the day. I don't know if that makes sense but I like that it's not too feminine. I've gotten lots of compliments while wearing this.
The candle was for my husband. He has a thing for candles and coffee and this just so happened to be a candle in Espresso. Now this does not smell like coffee. It smells more like chocolate. It's very sweet smelling but we love it none the less.
Can we take a minute to stop and drool over this sweater! I love this sweater. It's nice and thick and the sleeves and embroidery are to die for. I am also really loving this color to wear. It's the right kind of pink for my skin tone.
I'm going to link everything below, so feel free to browse through the website. I have my eye on a few jumpers and shoes. My husband has his eye on a few bowls and candles.
Enjoy!
