2018 Beauty Favorites

We are back with another year of beauty favorites! This year my skin has definitely went through some changes during pregnancy and even after giving birth. So I had to change up my beauty products quite a bit. A lot of products that I used in 2017, I still use. I just wanted to include some new favorites I’ve been using consistently this year.

Skincare

My skin used to be really oily but now it is extremely dry. It didn’t really get dry until the second half of the year. I actually developed eczema under my eye and on my eyelid so eye shadow has been a no-go this year. I would say the eye area is the driest part of my face. So here’s what helped and I’ve been loving:

I love Derma E products and I actually mentioned their hydrating eye cream last year and it is still a favorite to this day. It is easy to blend and contains hylauronic acid, making it extremely moisturizing. I decided to pick up Derma E’s hydrating gentle cleanser and their hydrating day cream and they have literally been skin savers for my dry skin. Especially the day cream! I’ve been going a lot without makeup lately and this moisturizer is very easy to blend and does not make me look greasy which is great.

Ya’ll know I love a good sheet mask. My sister introduced me to the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrating Hydrogel Sheet Masks and I am obsessed. They feel so good, they don’t break me out, and the best part is that they are so affordable!

Face

I have definitely embraced the no makeup look this year and it’s been great. I don’t have a lot of time for a full face of makeup and with all of my skin issues less has definitely been more. For the first half of the year, my Maybelline Fit Me Matte & Poreless foundation is still my favorite. It is honestly so good and I have been using it consistently for years. This summer I switched to a tinted moisturizer because of how hot it was and I wanted something with SPF in it. I ended up loving the Tarte Amazonian Clay BB Tinted Moisturizer. So many tinted moisturizers were in the wrong color and didn’t blend well. This one definitely checked all of the boxes for me. I did pick up of the darkest shade in tan. However, it is unfortunate that they don’t offer more shade choices.

Now for when I did need to set my makeup or certain areas of my face, I loved using the Burt’s Bees mattifying foundation powder. This stuff is great. For bronzer, I just finished the Colourpop pressed powder face bronzer. It took me all year and I used it almost every day and it is so good. It’s the right color and pigmentation. I don’t know what shade I got but I know I need this bronzer in my life again.

I still use all of my favorite blushes from last year. I am truly a blush girl through and through. I picked up the Profusion Blush palette from Target. it contains 6 different blush shades and I have used every single one and loved every single one. They are a lot more pigmented than I thought they would be. It was very inexpensive. I wanna say $5 for the palette. There is quite a bit of fallout so be careful and let’s be real, they’re not long lasting but they are pretty amazing for the price.

Now this takes the spot as my all time favorite product this year. It’s the Too Faced Hangover 3-in-1 replenishing primer and setting spray. I was so desperate for a hydrating setting spray and asked for help in Sephora one day. This was recommended and I am absolutely obsessed. I spray this on my face before makeup, after makeup, and days with no makeup on. It is so hydrating and it just melts into the skin. It gives the skin such a beautiful, hydrated look. It’s actually one of the few finishing sprays that doesn’t contain alcohol.

Eyes

There aren’t any new eye shadow palettes this year just because of the eczema but there are so many I want to try, so fingers crossed that I can figure out this whole skin thing.

I have been loving the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz and the Clear Brow Gel. I am a big fan of their brow definer but I think the brow wiz may have it beat. It’s so good and so precise. I still love my e.l.f brow pencil. Another new favorite would have to be the Maybelline Total Temptation Brow Definer. It’s so good and affordable. It actually reminds me a lot of the ABH Brow definer.

I went back to using my favorite mascara, which is the L'Oreal Voluminous Original. I know it works and it makes my eyelashes look great.

Lips

Ya’ll know I am a lip product junkie but I made sure to narrow it down. These lip products have been in rotation every single day.

I’ve been loving the Burt’s Bees Beeswax Lip balm. It feels so nice and hydrating. I buy so many of these. I literally went on a scavenger hunt to find the Bobbi Brown Crushed Lipstick in Sazan Nude. It was limited edition and sold out everywhere! It’s by one of my favorite humans and I really loved the color. My husband found it at the Sephora by his job and it was the last one. This is my everyday lip color.

Next are all by Maybelline. Maybelline is my favorite drugstore brand. I love their matte lipstick in 565 Almond Rose and their Super Stay Matte Ink lip color in 70 Amazonian and 65 Seductress. They’re long lasting, they don’t dry out my lips and very easy to apply.

So there you have my yearly favorites. My goal is to branch out a little more this year. We shall see.

What beauty products have you been loving?
