My 2016 Favorite Drugstore Beauty Products

Alright! 2016 is basically over. Only a few more days left and we're onto the next year. I would say 2016 has been all about "perfecting" my skin and finding what works for me. I have a skincare blog post featuring all of the products that I've been loving. I've also seen the most improvement with my skin, while using these products. I'll link it here.

But with more experimenting than usual, these have been the most reached for drugstore beauty products of 2016. And trust me I have tried way more than this but I narrowed it done to the ones that you can find in my everyday makeup bag.

Each product name will be linked for you to find it online and read a little more about it, or to purchase it. (They are not affiliate links, I just looked the products up online.)

Foundations

Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation in 220 Natural Beige: This stuff is for normal to oily skin types. If you know me any, and have been reading my blog, I have very oily skin. This foundation has great coverage and provides a matte finish without making your skin look dry.  It's comfortable to wear and controls my oil throughout the day with barely any touch-ups.

L'Oreal Paris Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream in Medium: It primes, corrects, hydrates, and perfects. I adore this stuff. I don't like a lot on my skin and I always want to look natural. I also want something quick to apply. This stuff is great. It gives me such a natural finish and is very comfortable to wear. Keep in mind this is a BB cream so don't expect much coverage from it.

Palettes

BH Cosmetics Carli Bybel eye-shadow & highlighter palette: Can we just take a minute to drool? I love this palette. It's so pretty. This palette is what started my love for highlighters. They are so pigmented and this product is so affordable.

Sonia Kashuk Knock Out Beauty Shadow Box Smokey Eye Palette: I bought this palette because of the packaging, I'll be honest. But the colors are matte and neutral which are right up my alley. There are also a few shimmer shades as well. I typically stick to the left side of the palette, but have used the right. It also give you a simple smokey eye by labeling each row as a highlight, lid, crease, or liner color. Super simple and quick. The matte shades do have a bit of fall-out so be sure to tap your bush after adding the pigment to your brush.

Face

L'Oreal True Match Super-Blend-able Powder in N-4 Buff Beige: I have been using this stuff for a while now. I would say a year minimum and I just love it. It's not cakey, it's blend-able just like the package says and really blends to your skin tone. And did I mention it controls my natural oils?

e.l.f Peach Perfection Blush: This is a cream blush and I don't really use creams but I love this cream product. I use it daily. It's a nice peach tone and gives your skin such a natural and dewy flush to your cheeks.

Wet n Wild Color Icon Bronzer SPF 15 739 Ticket to Brazil: Such a beautiful powder bronzer. It gives me such a subtle color and glow to my skin. It contains shimmer but not where it's like Tinkerbell threw pixie dust on your face. It looks like the sun kissed your face in the right way.

Brows

I do not leave the house without my brows being put together. I just can't.

e.l.f clear brow gel & brow pencil in taupe are perfect for me. I love the way the product applies. The brush is great and the gel does not make my eyebrows stiff and crusty.

NYX Sculpt & Highlight Brow Contour in brunette is amazing. I love the fact that it comes with a highlighter concealer to clean up my brows.

Concealer

Maybelline New York Super Stay Better Skin Concealer in Medium is my favorite. I was using the age rewind concealer before I found this one and now I don't want to stray away from it. Nice coverage. Suits my skin tone and feels great. It is also oil free. I will sometimes wear this by itself. Just brows, mascara, and concealer.

Lips

Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lip-color: I have no idea what color it is in but it's such a pretty pale lip pink color. It also doesn't dry completely matte and is comfortable to wear. I usually keep this in my purse.

NYX Lingerie Liquid Lipstick in LIPLI12 Exotic: Beautiful pink mauve color. Super comfortable to wear and a great summer and autumn lip-color. I would line your lips though because it can bleed. It also lasts a super long time. I often times find myself eating while wearing this lip-color.

CoverGirl 255 Tempting Toffee: This is my everyday lipstick. I wear this stuff literally everyday. If I don't know what to wear, I'll grab this. Such a pretty and comfortable color to wear. It also provides a nice subtle gloss to the lips.

Other

The first two products were bought at TJMaxx and are by a company called Revive Beauty I believe. They were each $3.99. The first item is a makeup brush cleaner which helps so much. The other is a beauty sponge and works so good with blending your makeup. It's a pretty good knock-off and comes in many colors.

NYX Green Tea Blotting Paper: As an oily skin type girl, I gotta keep control of my oils and this product helps with that. Also green tea is great for your skin.

Alright! So there you have it, my 2016 favorite drugstore beauty products. With my skin improving daily, I want to expand my knowledge on other beauty products and continue to do reviews. My goal for 2017 is to branch out to organic and vegan beauty brands and skincare as well as make my way into the high-end makeup brands. My budget is not yet ready for the luxury makeup but you never know. Like I wrote above, each product name is linked for more information or purchase. I hope my beauty product posts have been informative and cheers to 2017 and the exploration of makeup!

Enjoy!
