Maternity Style Guide & Lookbook
With this being my third pregnancy, and with me working, I knew there would be certain pieces I needed to buy to be comfortable and still stylish and work-appropriate.
Depending on what size you are and in the early stages of pregnancy you can still get away with your normal clothes or even size up. The thing with sizing up, for me personally is that I wanted to still be able to wear it when I wasn’t pregnant anymore. So sweaters were nice because I love wearing over-sized sweaters with leggings when I’m not pregnant. Leggings are the same, I could get away with sizing up and still being able to wear them after pregnancy.
Now as your belly grows because the baby is growing I did invest in maternity jeans. My favorite jeans are from Target. I also invested in nursing bras, underwear, and shirts that stretch and covered my belly. Motherhood Maternity had a great deal for basic shirts you can style with everything, as well as on nursing bras.
My go-to outfits were maternity jeans, a t-shirt with a cardigan or leggings and an over-sized sweater. Dresses are also a great option. I love to wear jeans and all of my high-waisted jeans were obviously out of the question so I knew investing in maternity jeans would be right for me.
Also, I’ve been wearing a lot of my husband’s clothes as well, because loose-fitting stuff is just more comfortable for me.
Here’s what I’ve been wearing throughout pregnancy:
I am definitely all belly this time around, so my main goal has been to keep the belly covered!
Find out what’s important to you during pregnancy and give yourself grace with your changing body. There will be some days when sweatpants and a baggy sweatshirt will be the only thing that feels right.
