Summer Homeschool Rhythm
Although we have stopped homeschooling officially, we are always still learning. My daughter actually tells me how much she misses our homeschool lessons and asked if we could do some over the summer.
So we’re doing just that!
We will be keeping a fluid homeschool summer rhythm, filled with lots of projects, experiments, and field trips! I personally can’t wait and I know my daughter can’t either. There are also some areas in writing and math we’re going to continue to focus on and continue to build her confidence in so nothing gets lost throughout the summer months.
As I said, nothing will be too strict and I’m not even going to plan full lessons. Everything will be quick and to the point but focused mostly on having fun.
Here’s what our summer homeschool rhythm is going to look like:
*my kids wake up extremely early, so our days start early*
7:30 am - 8:30 am : Get dressed & eat breakfast
8:30 am - 11:30 am : Outdoor play (before it gets too hot), field trip, or an outside adventure
11:30 am - 12:30 pm : Lunchtime & clean up
12:30 pm : The littles go down for a nap
12:30 pm - 2: 30 pm: Quick Writing prompt (we’re going to keep a fun polaroid photo diary) quick math lesson & an experiment/craft
We may continue our Blossom & Root Science Curriculum because it was a lot of fun and my daughter really enjoyed it.
2:30 pm - 5:30 pm : More outside time, water play, craft, cartoons ( my kids do watch tv in the afternoons for an hour usually)
5: 30 pm: dinner
Of course, throughout the day there will be plenty of snacks and reading. We are traveling a lot this summer and I have so many fun field trips planned, to where we might be out all day and I’ll be prepared to pack for that.
If you homeschool, do you summer school too? If so, what are your summer school plans?
love & light,
Jalesa
