Everywhere We Ate in OBX

We have been coming to OBX for about 6 years now and over the years we have truly developed some favorite places to eat and grab coffee. For our most recent trip, we went back to some favorites and we tried a lot of new places and all of them were really good!

Here’s everywhere we ate in the Outer Banks:

Kill Devil Hills

  • Front Porch Cafe

    • Coffee shop with several locations in Kill Devil Hills, Manteo, & Nags Head. Some of the best cold brew we’ve ever had!

  • Stack’em High Pancakes

    • American Diner with a very simple and yummy menu. It’s also not very expensive and you get a lot of food. There are 2 locations - one in Kill Devil Hills and one in Kitty Hawk, we typically go to the one in Kitty Hawk. This place can get very busy and there may seem like you won’t have a place to eat when you get inside but trust the process, it works (You’ll know what I mean when you go)!

  • Dare Devil's Pizzeria

    • Very close to beach access and very good and fast pizza! We enjoyed their pizza, buffalo wings, fries, and mozzarella sticks. It was the perfect meal to feed many after a beach day.

  • Jack Brown’s Beer & Burger Joint

    • Very simple burgers (no fixings) besides their specialty burgers. They were very good. They are expensive for what it is IMO but everyone enjoyed their burger. We ate outside but when going inside for the restroom, my husband said it was very dark and creepy inside.

  • Kill Devil's Frozen Custard & Beach Fries

    • MY FAVORITE! I love their fries and their custard is so good! I’ve never ordered actually food from them but my husband enjoyed their chicken sandwich.

Kitty Hawk

  • Stack'em High Pancakes MP 4.5

Duck

  • Duck Cottage

    • This is the cutest little coffee and bookstore. Their coffee is really good and they have a great selection of books. It is very tight inside.

  • Duck Donuts

    • This is the original location of Duck Donuts! I personally do not like the one where we live but they clearly take pride in the original location.

  • NC Coast Grill & Bar

    • This place was such an experience. It’s a nice restaurant on the water and we went for date night. They do not accept reservations during the beach season but the wait is worth it. We waited for about 25 minutes and browsed the shops along the boardwalk. They specialize in their chef specialty board and if it’s your first time going, I HIGHLY recommend getting it. It’s their version of a tasting menu and you get to try a lot of the menu, including appetizers, main dishes, and a dessert. Everything was so good and it’s a lot of food! So I definitely believe it’s worth the money ($55/person). It’s enough for 2 people, anything more is more like small plates/appetizers. We will definitely go again!

My husband and I love trying new restaurants and so far we’ve chosen some really great places. Have you been to any of these locations? If you haven’t, which one do you want to try?

love & light,

Jalesa
