Book Talk: God Never Blinks

50 Lessons for Life's Little Detours

Regina Brett

I'm big on picking up books based on their cover and their title and this bright orange book with a floating parachute spoke to me. I feel like you can never read too many life lessons even if they're the same lesson. The fun part is reading about the author's experience to realize that life lesson.

Regina Brett was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 41. It took her 2 years to fight cancer and then to recover from fighting cancer. This battle inspired her to write a column for her newspaper where she works, about 45 things she's learned. When she turned 50, she added 5 more and these lessons have been shared over, and over, and over, time, and time again.

These are lessons you may have already learned but are lessons that anyone can relate to you, no matter the age. There is something to be taken from each lesson.

A few of the lessons will make you cry. A few will make you laugh. They all will teach you something.

Some of her lessons include:

#3 Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.

#8 It's okay to get angry with God. He can handle it.

#12 It's okay to let your children see you cry.

#27 Always choose life.

#33 Believe in miracles

#48 If you don't ask, you don't get.

#50 Life isn't tied with a bow but it's still a gift.

If you want a very good uplifting, inspirational book to read, I recommend picking this book up. There's a short story in there for you.

Love & Light,
