Baby Shower Gift Guide

As a mama to be, I'm sharing some tips and ideas for purchasing gifts for a baby shower.

There are 2 main categories to keep in mind, the essentials, the things that every baby needs and will probably run out of fairly quickly. Then you have entertainment, which is everything that is nice to have for a new baby.

For the entertainment:

For the essentials:

  • diapers
  • wipes
  • first aid kit
  • swaddles, burp cloths, bibs
  • hygiene products: shampoo, lotion, diaper rash cream, etc.
  • laundry detergent
  • play mat
  • toys
  • rattles
  • stuffed animals
  • activity tables
  • books
  • jumpers

These are just a few examples. There are so many things you can get for a baby that it becomes a little overwhelming. If the person you are showering, has a baby registry, utilize it!

Stick to the baby registry as much as possible. Mamas know what they want for their new babes.

If you think the mom to be is missing out on some things, compromise. Purchase something the mama wants and purchase something you want to give.

Make it personal! Personalized gifts are highly cherished, but so is everything else. Trust me, moms appreciate all the help they can get because pregnancy brain and mom brain is real!

Think long term. Babies grow quickly! So do not be afraid to buy size 1 or 2 diapers. Buy clothes in bigger sizes. Buy feeding supplies such as spoons and bowls. Trust me, it's never too early.

Quality and purpose is always better than how cute something is. All baby stuff, in general, is cute, but make sure it is also useful!

And don't forget the mama! She needs a little TLC too!

At the end of the day, baby showers are all about celebrating the new gift of life and the new mom to be. Shower them both with as much love and happiness you can give. Moms appreciate that the most!

Love & Light,
