Jaxon's First Birthday

I can’t believe this little guy is already one! I literally was just going through the blog rereading our pregnancy announcement and gender reveal and now I’m sharing his first birthday party!

It’s true when they say each kid is different. Jaxon’s personality truly differs from Jordan’s and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Jaxon has taught me so many different things about myself and how to be a mother to a mom of two and a little boy. He is such a strong-willed breath of fresh air, that shines so much life into our lives. It’s crazy to watch babies grow into little people. Like “wow! I’m responsible for this little dude.”

One thing I really enjoy about being a mother is that I am in charge of the memories that my children get to share and remember when they’re older. Celebrating life is something I always want to encourage our children to do. So for his first year of life we decided to throw him a DINO-MITE birthday! haha! Get it!? Ever since Jaxon was a baby he would make these cute noises that sounded like a baby dinosaur so of course that’s what his first party had to be!

I’m really into looking up inspiration on Pinterest and really turning it into my own and making it work for my space and my family.

These were the main inspiration pictures from Pinterest.

The goal was to use as much stuff that I already had which works because Jordan already had toy dinosaurs for the decorations and cake topper.

Most of the decorations such as the plates and napkins and balloons came from Target. I love their selection of party supplies. The rest came from the Dollar Tree. This is another great place to pick up party supplies from.

We picked up a lot of the food from Costco such as the wings and veggie tray. We picked up different types of fruits as well and made our own fruit salad. We made vegan cupcakes and cake from Liv B’s cookbook and they are so good. We used the same cupcake recipe for Jordan’s birthday as well. I don’t think I’ll ever make regular cake again.

We have a tradition in our family that on everyone’s birthday the birthday boy or girl gets cake on their face. Let’s just say it ended up in his eye and then Jaxon ended up taking a nap. haha! Overall I was overjoyed with the way the decorations came out and it was so fun having friends and family together.

Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate and that helped make my vision come together.

Let me know if y’all have any questions about the decorations or food!

Love & Light,
