Quote of the month:

I'm still learning how to be easier on myself, how to remember that I'm only human.

-autumn

November has always been my favorite month. I think it's because my birthday and Thanksgiving are within the same month. I think it's also because the temperature really starts to cool down and the leaves really start to change colors and fall. It's such a beautiful month filled with love and a time before new beginnings, before the new year. It's a month that emphasizes the beauty of goodbyes before rebirth.

This month has really been about family and taking the time to slow down and when I can't do something or don't have the time to do something or simply don't want to do something not to beat myself up about it. (I tend to do that a lot.) But we are all humans after all and as much as we like to believe we have superpowers, we don't, at least not always, and that's okay.

So what have we been up to this month?

November 12th I turned 23! I feel like I'm at that awkward stage where I'm an adult but not quite a legit adult until I'm 25. I don't know. Maybe that's just me. We went to go visit my grandma the during the day and later that night we went bowling with some friends which was a ton of fun!

We were supposed to go to our friends' house for Friendsgiving but unfortunately, we were unable to make it. So we decided to make our very own Thanksgiving meal at home which was such a fun learning experience for us. The food was really good though.

We changed it up this year and spent Thanksgiving with my dad's side of the family for the very first time and it was quite nice.

We put up the Christmas tree super early this year! I usually like to wait until the first of December but the holiday spirit took over me and we ended up putting up our Christmas decorations the day after Thanksgiving.

My older sister's birthday is also in November and we went to an escape room and OMG! It was so much fun! Each room has a theme and a story and you have an hour to figure out the answer to the riddle and find the key to unlock the door. I highly recommend going. We made it out in 45 minutes!

We said goodbye to my first trimester and welcomed my second trimester which has been smooth sailing. *knocks on wood* We also found out baby's gender so stay tuned for the gender reveal!

We also discovered a new bookstore call Solid State Books over on H st which is amazing! I love local bookshops.

To be honest we did quite a bit this month!

The only book I am reading this month is: God Never Blinks: 50 Lesson for life's little detours by Regina Brett.

There won't be anymore subscription box blog posts as we move into the new year to start saving and prepping for Baby Dodson. But don't worry! I have lots of great content coming up. I'm doing Blogmas this year! I'm posting every other day in December, starting December first, all the way to Christmas day!

Check out my November beauty favorites here and my Fall/Winter fashion trends post here.

I'll talk to you guys soon!

Love & Light,
